Department of Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology department provides tertiary consultative and treatment care for patients of all ages with different kind of ophthalmological diseases.
The department is equipped with the most modern diagnostic equipment of leading global manufacturers (CarlZeiss – Germany, Nidek, Shin-Nippon, Heine, Kowa – Japan, Alcon– USA, Spectralis HRA+OCT (Heidelberg Engineering) – ОCТ– the adapter to the laser scanning angiograph HRA (Austria) allows to produce accurate diagnostics on the high level for one visit.
We carry out diagnostics and treatment of all ophthalmological diseases.
The department provides all ophthalmological services, unique of which are:
Color photography of the eye retina and the ophthalmic nerve on the color fundus-camera without pupillary dilatation allow to realize photo visualization and photo documentation of the picture of the eye ground, trace the dynamics of changes.
Spectral optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the retina and the ophthalmic nerve with function of fluorescent angiography (FFA) of the posterior eye segment.
The optical coherence tomography (OCT) is widely used in modern medicine. This is non-invasive and high accurate method of investigation that allow to get the picture of the tissue in a cross section invivo.
The spectral optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a new method. At the beginning of 2013 year this apparatus is exclusive in Kazakhstan. In compare with the other devices of the previous generation this apparatus allow to run more than 25 thousand linear scans per second, surpassing in this parameter optical tomographs of the previous generation in more than 60 times (some models in 120 times).
Powerful technical base in the department makes it possible to conduct the optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fluorescent angiography (FFA), which are used for accurate and early diagnosis of glaucoma, pathological conditions of the retina, early diagnostics and current changes in the eyes of patients with diabetes, evaluation of blood vessels of the retina.
Electrophysiological study allows to evaluate objectively the function of the optical nervous system from the retina to the central parts of visual analyzer.
